Inter-School French Festival 2018

COMMON THREADS BETWEEN FRANCE AND INDIA

As part of this festival, students will research a topic that unites India and France and showcase their

findings – through different presentation forms. Through this collaborative exchange between

students from both countries, the festival aims to deepen the friendship between India and France.

Students will thus simultaneously engage and take forward the shared Indo-French values of

innovation, creativity and partnership.

 

THEME OF THE FESTIVAL

Common threads between France and India

India and France both have been working on various issues and causes for the improvement

of their public and their country. We invite the schools to introduce these sincere efforts

made by both the countries and showcase a comparative study to highlight these steps

towards respecting the natural resources.

 

DOMAINS

Indian or French innovations/ partnerships/ creativity in:

1. Biodiversity/ Environment resources:

a. National parks

2. Food resources:

a. Agricultural produce of

TEAM PARTICIPATION CATEGORIES

Participating teams may showcase their project in one of the following categories:

1. Short film (documentary / fiction)

2. PowerPoint/ YouTube

3. Painting / Drawing / Photography

4. Theatre

5. Activities / Games / Quizzes

Age group

13 to 18 years of age

Location

The festival will be held in all major cities of India in the campuses of the host schools.

 

TWO PARTICIPATION FORMATS

● Schools for Indo-French friendship

● Schools with a global outlook

Format : “Schools for Indo-French friendship”

These schools:

● host other schools in the Inter-School French Festival held in their premises.

● work hard for the exposure of their students to the world and to new cultures.

● regularly organise or wish to organise student exchange programmes with France and with

other foreign countries.

● have many students that participate in internationally recognised DELF examinations.

Format : “Schools with a global outlook”

These schools:

● organise the Inter-School French Festival for their own students in their premises.

● continue to provide a vision and outlook towards the world to their students, despite being

situated in small cities with less access to transport facilities.

● continue to overcome the challenges and continue to promote foreign languages in their

premises.

Schools will participate similarly in terms of team and infrastructure. Hosting will differ according to

the format of the participating schools .

Participate in the festival hosted by another school

In this case you will be considered as part of the first format.

 

THE FOLLOWING IS VALID FOR ALL FORMATS

Teams

Each participating school shall send teams:

● maximum of 3 (three) teams per school

● each team of maximum 10 students

Infrastructure

The host school may organise this festival using the existing school infrastructure

● Short films/ documentaries: auditorium, halls

● Sports: playground

● Paintings: long corridors

● Digital presentations: computer laboratories etc.

 

PUBLIC

● Students of the participating schools

● Parents of the participating students

 

SUPPORT FROM THE NETWORK OF THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE 

The dignitaries from the network shall be pleased to be a part of this festival hosted by your

school:

• Embassy of France in India

• Institut français India

• Alliance Française network in India

• Consulates of the French Embassy in India

• Campus France network in India

Institut Français India shall coordinate with the French network on behalf of the host schools.
