Knowledge Summit

On the occasion of the first State visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to India, the French Embassy in India – French Institute in India along with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research & Innovation, Republic of France and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, jointly organised the Knowledge Summit – the first high-level Indo-French summit on higher education and research on 10th and 11th March in New Delhi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Campus France, and the Confederation of Indian Industry.

The Summit was inaugurated by the Mrs Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education and Research and Innovation, Republic of France and Mr Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

The Knowledge Summit brought together leading actors from the domains of academics and industry to fashion a roadmap for the future collaborations between the two countries for the next 5-10 years.


On the first day, plenary sessions focused on the new vision of Indo-French collaborations in the context of globalisation, student mobility, pedagogical innovation, need-based skill development as well as latest advances in science and innovation.


On the second day, 2 sessions of 4 parallel thematic round table discussions focused on key areas of mutual interest for both the countries, such as Smart Cities, Aerospace & Space, Agronomy & Food Processing, Building a World class H.E. Institutions with enterprises, Eco Energies, Mathematics & IT, Natural Resources & Bio Products, Strengthening Employability & Entrepreneurship.
