I would like to create a choreography in echo with what surrounds me. I see this residency as a possibility to open my artistic spectrum to India and to be in total immersion with the local artistic scene. Inspired by Afro-contemporary but also traditional Indian dances, my performance will push the spectator and myself to reflect on the importance of the place where we look.
Massandje Sanogo is a multidisciplinary artist. After her initial training in acting, she turned to photography, video, dance and djing on a self-taught basis. In her creation process, she doesn't hesitate to mix these practices for hybrid results. In 2022, she created her first solo theater performance "Rapport sur ma vie antérieure de femme noire" (Report on my previous life as a black woman), which dealt with the discrimination and identity problems faced by Afro-descendants
