The Franco-Indian Education Trust, a non-profit charitable and educational Trust, is a joint initiative of the Embassy of France in India and Mr Prshant K Lahoti, Managing Trustee of the Krishnakriti Foundation. It was established in August 2017 and was unveiled in March 2018 during the State visit of President Emmanuel Macron to India.
The Trust aims to increase mobility between France and India, provide equal opportunities to women and lower income groups and to empower individuals through education. It offers scholarships to Indian students to pursue their higher studies in France.
The Trust currently offers three scholarship programmes:
- Amba-Dalmia Scholarship Programme
This scholarship, named after Amba-Dalmia, is designed to empower and encourage women to pursue studies in the fields of music,sports, theatre,cinema, gastronomy and arts in France.
