English Language AssistantsLive in France and benefit from a valuable professional experience!

The English Language Assistants in France Programme’ offers Indian students or professionals a unique opportunity to discover and experience the French language and culture.

While living and working in France over a period of 7 months, the assistants participate in a linguistic and cultural exchange with students and teachers in French primary schools, middle schools and/or high schools.

The assistants stay in France from 1 October to 30 April of the next year.

The programme is confirmed for the 2020 batch of English language Assistants. They are scheduled to travel to France in October 2020.

The applications for 2021-22 will be open in the month of October. In case of any change, we will post updates on this page whenever relevant

As part of the ‘French Language Assistants in India’ programme, French students pursuing their Master’s degrees are invited to teach French in Indian universities over a period of 9 months.

The French Institute in India coordinates with Indian and French schools and educational organisations to organise student exchange programmes. These exchanges may be virtual -through Skype or email exchanges- or may involve travelling to the host country for a fixed period of time.

How can IFI help you find an exchange partner? The French Institute in India puts you in contact with partners for student exchange as well as teaching expertise programmes.

“French in Schools” is a support system for Indian schools, public or private, which already offer French language courses to their students.

The goal is to upgrade the quality of the language level provided in the participating schools. We offer both linguistic and pedagogical resources.

More details coming soon.

Programme School for Excellence in French - educational partnershipsThe French Institute in India accompanies schools which aim to provide the best academic structure for their students. We provide a framework -based on parameters such as pedagogy, teaching-methodology and professional development- which engages the academic and administrative faculty in creating an effective and well-balanced curriculum for learning French as a foreign language in school.

The schools which choose to adhere to the norms established by French Institute in India become a part of the growing network of “Schools for Excellence in French”.
